Denise
Principal teacher and master instructor; artistic
director of the Enan Egyptian
Folkloric troupe. Denise was a principal dancer
and instructor with the world-renowned
National Folkloric Troupe of Egypt (Firqa
Kaoumeia) and is recognized as a pioneer
in the Canadian artistic community who is
responsible for bringing authentic
Egyptian dance to Canada. Denise is in high demand
world-wide as a master workshop

Ahmed
– Professional coaching, Choreography, Men's
dances of Egypt
Ahmed was a principal dancer with Egypt's
National Folkloric Troupe, the Firqa
Kaomeia. Ahmed also worked for the Folk Arts
Institute of the Egyptian Ministry
of Culture as a researcher and recorder of the
regional folk dances of Egypt
in their natural setting. His research has
served to preserve the original folk
arts, as well as to inspire the theatricized
recreation of these dances as presented
in Egypt by the National Troupe and the Reda
Troupe. Ahmed is an award winning
choreographer and choreographs the Enan Egyptian

Farida
(Marie-Ève)
Farida was trained in instruction techniques and
Egyptian dance for performance
by Denise and Ahmed Enan, as well as continuing
her training with several workshop
instructors, both in Canada and in Egypt. Farida
is also a member of the Enan
Egyptian Troupe and a celebrated soloist in the
Ottawa-Gatineau region.

Jalilah
Jalilah has performed all around the world at
all types of venues. During a 10-year
period starting in 1985, she visited Egypt
multiple times, finally staying almost
a year in 1995 to perform, study and perfect her
dancing. She toured and performed
with some of the most celebrated groups like The
Musicians of the Nile, Sharkiat
and Salamat. Her extensive experience in working
with a variety of musicians
and performing with live music enabled her to
produce a series of six CDs of
belly dance music entitled Jalilah’s Raks Sharki
for the recording label
Piranha of Berlin, Germany. The series is held
in high esteem by dancers worldwide. Jalilah's

Johara
(Johanne)
Johara originally trained in Modern dance and
performed with the professional troupe Le groupe
dance-lab. She also studied Jazz dance for 6
years with the Ottawa Dance Centre. She studied
oriental dance mostly with master instructor
Denise Enan as well as several other instructors
in Canada and in Egypt. Johara is a member of
the Enan Egyptian Troupe and soloist in the
Ottawa-Gatineau area.

Marlya
(Marlyn)
Marlya has been studying Baladi dance for over
20 years and is still studying with master
instructor Denise Enan. She has taken dance
workshops in Canada and in Egypt. She performs
as a soloist in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.

Samara
(Isabelle)
Having had training in figure skating as well as
jazz, Isabelle discovered Oriental
dance with Denise Enan in 2006. Today, she
continues her training under Denise’s
guidance, as well a with several other renowned
dancers such as Aziza, Hadia,
Farida, and Jalilah. Isabelle teaches at Denise
Enan’s Dance Oasis studio,
and dances professionally at special events.

Carina
Carina began belly dancing at the young age of 7
at the Oasis Dance Studio and now, aged-17,
recently won 1st place in the Miami Bellydance
Convention competition. She first started
dancing with Rania and has since studied with
Master Instructor Denise Enan, Farida, Jalilah
and Mayada. She has taken workshops with
multiple teachers in Canada as well as in Spain,
Germany, Holland and the U.S. Furthermore,
Carina has studied ballet, hiphop and salsa.

Kalia
Kalia was drawn to Middle Eastern dance by the
music and found her artistic home in 2011 at
Dance Oasis where she has studied with Egyptian
master teacher Denise Enan and her accomplished
colleagues, Jalilah Zamora and Farida Enan among
others. As a teacher, and performer, and member
of the Enan Egyptian Troupe, Kalia strives to
share and convey her love of these dance forms
through joyful and expressive teaching and
performance.
